Fun Monday #2
This weeks fun Monday is being hosted by Beckie at Give It A Try. These were her instructions:
"I want to know a little bit more about you, not about your house. I want to know what your favorite treat is. Is it sweet or sour? Is it plain or salty? Is it candy or chocolate? Is it homemade or store bought? For instance, if your favorite is chocolate, tell us what kind specifically - sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes not so much. I have heard a lot of talk about Junior Mints, but is it your favorite or just a tasty treat? It can be anything, popcorn, peanuts, ice cream or chips, maybe you have more than one favorite - that is ok, just show us your favorite(s) and tell us why you like it so much. C’mon, what gets you all juiced up?"
Well, if you've been reading my blog for any length of time you probably know the treat I can not resist is Chocolate Chip cookies. Not the homemade kind. Although I love homemade chocolate chip cookies, I absolutely can not resist Chips Ahoy! But, not the soft ones- I do not like those.
Don't be fooled by the plate. I only did that for you all. Normally- I eat straight from the cookie container. The cookies just don't have time to make it to the plate when they are in such a rush to get to my mouth. And, also that way I don't have an extra plate to wash.
Now, I started out with only four cookies on the plate because I try to eat only four at a time. But, four cookies made the plate look so empty and sad. So, I added four more (I must always eat in fours, it's part of my OCD) and I think eight cookies looks much better than four. I had intended to take the picture, put four cookies back into the container and then eat the remaining four cookies. Well, I guess you know what happened. I ate all eight of them.
And, how can you have cookies without milk? I actually do not like milk, but add a little chocolate to it and I'll drink it right down.
And, now that I am posting this, looking at those cookies is making my mouth water and I am considering going and getting four eight more.
So, now I am off to Give It A Try so that I can visit the rest of the Fun Monday participants.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure that after checking out everyone's favorite treats today that I won't be weighing-in tomorrow at the May Day Weight Loss Challenge.

Seeing these has made me remember my daughter (beccy) makes amazingly good choc chip cookies. It's a good job I am reading this after I've had dinner or I would be feeling peckish :)
This post made me laugh...I like to eat in odd number! Three at a time...which means that I can have any multiple of three (for instance, with M&Ms...6 or 9 would be a good number). Uh boy.
Chips Ahoy always tastes like coconut to me.
Good post - I like the cookie presentation!
Hiya Melanie, I see that you like cookies with milk I'll go with coffee without sugar :D
Yummy! I prefer homemade chocolate chip cookies (when they are still warm from the oven), but when I can't have those, I like chips ahoy the best too! Maybe I should have 8 too!
Yes, chocolate chip ccokies and milk is such a comforting snack. Rather than chocolate milk, I do prefer regular milk skim, whole, or 2% with my cookies.
In the past I ate dough before I could get them baked. But now I worry about eggs.
I'll let you have my share of chips a hoy. I prefer the soft ones.
Hmmm...I love choc chip cookies too!
i love them but with coffee so i can 'dunk' them mmmm
So, really, just how many chips are in Chips Ahoy!! [I like 'em too...the crunchy ones, not the soft ones!!]
*YUMMMMMmm*
My fun Monday is posted.
I like cookies too.
My Fun Monday is posted too.
I always eat in even numbers. Guess other people ARE just as weird as me!
Oh, cookies! Only I don't have access to my favourites, because they're made by a neighbour who occasionally distributes her culinary largesse over the street. They're AMAZING.
And I have very deliberately NOT asked for the recipe...
Homemade chewy chocolate chips cookies with milk. Verry good one. I eat in two's, but that adds up pretty quickly as well. :)
YUM...chocolate chip cookies!!! I actually only like the soft ones, but still...yum....
Who counts? Why count? I just stuff my face until I am content or sick.
I love Chips Ahoy!! Have you ever warmed them up in the microwave? They are soooo good that way!
I eat in even numbers, too! I can't ever leave the volume on the tv on anything but an even number, either....
I think I gained weight, just reading your post.
See now, I didn't even include cookies in my list because they don't make my *favorites* usually unless they're homemade, and I don't do that often enough. When I do, I eat about half of the dough raw:o)
I agree about the store bought soft cookies. They're usually a little off tasting. Is it a plastic taste or am I nuts?
Some of my favorite store bought cookies are the Simply Shortbread Cinnamon Swirls that those cute little Keebler elves make.
I didn't even know anyone cared about the number of things they ate--other than to not eat too many. I used to really like chips ahoy too---I never buy them though. Choc milk is the best.
Yummy, I love those. Mine normally don't go anywhere other into my belly once the bag is open LOL.
My dad used to eat Chips Ahoy...only he would hide them from us kids. It was always so traumatic when we would find the empty package in the trash.
No resentment issues here!
Good ol' Chips Ahoy!! I think there's a secret ingredient in them that's addictive. Seriously.
Love reading your post!! So funny and fun, too!!
Hi Melanie! I saw on Jenna's blog that you, like me, are a phlegmatic melancholy. What a nice combo we are! :) Just thought I'd stop by and check out your blog and guess what? We have something else in common: I love Chips Ahoy Choco Chip cookies too. And yes, only the crunchy ones!
I love chocolate chip cookies, but have to admit I've never been a fan of Chips Ahoy.
okay....now I would like to have some cookies! lol
I used to have this great chocolate chip cookie recipe that used a box of vanilla pudding in it but I've lost it. :(
Our store-bought is lucky to make it to the oven. We're too tempted to freeze it and eat it that way. :)
I could eat cookies for hours...
I think that would be my eldest son's favourite treat as well he can't seem to get through the day without chocolate milk. I prefer to dunk my cookies into a hot drink.
Mmm! I love Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookies too!
Although I have no problem eating the soft ones also, I prefer the regular ones with a glass of milk to dunk 'em! Yum! Makes me want to go to the store for some.
Yummy....I want some!
