A Recipe Exchange, Your Opinions Please and Did I Do That? #2

Well, I'm sure you can tell by my title that there is a lot to cover today. So off we go......

First things first. Next Friday, December 14th, Pam at Random Thoughts will be hosting a recipe exchange. For the first recipe exchange we will all post a Christmas recipe on our own blogs. Then we will go to Pam's blog and sign Mr. Linky (very easy to do, don't get scared away already). Then we will visit the other participants and end up with some fabulous new Christmas recipes. There will be other recipe exchanges on other Fridays as well- and I'm sure you're looking for new things to try. So, click on this nifty picture to get all the details and let Pam know that you will participate!

So now on to some other stuff. Did you notice that the banner at the top of my blog says that there are only 22 days until Christmas? I have to get to work with my shopping and decorating. I did finally take my fall decorations down over the weekend but I still need to get my Christmas stuff up. And shopping? I don't even want to talk about it. I am going to really get myself in gear this week and get lots of presents bought and wrapped.

While we're talking about Christmas shopping I am thinking about doing some ads on my blog. With Christmas coming and then the bills following closely behind I've been considering this for a little while now. I know how some people feel about blogs with that stuff on them, so tell me what you think about me doing it. (For those of you who don't know what this will be- it's basically this- I write a post about a service or a product or a website and I get paid for doing it.)

And finally- here is my Did I Do That? #2

The other day I was on the floor playing with Hailey in her playroom and I noticed a little piece of a Nurti-Grain bar in her hair leftover from her morning snack. I picked it out of her hair and then wondered what I should do with it. I couldn't just throw it on the floor.

Put it in the garbage? Well, yes that would make sense, but would also involve getting up off of the floor.

And so I looked at the little piece of the Nutri-Grain bar and before I could stop myself- I ate it.

Yes, I ate it.

Oh yeah- I am one classy lady.

I love it! I must be honest and say that I would probably have eaten it too....seriously, what else would you do? It was probably the most nutrition you managed that morning and you couldn't just throw it on the floor....my mouth would have been its destination!

Thanks for the recipe exchange love! You explained it so well! I might just send everyone here to read about it :)

I'm with you on the Christmas shopping....must.get.moving!

I would still read your blog if you did pay per post things. I love ya and nothing would turn me away! Actually, can you tell me more about that (where to sign up, etc.)? We really could use a little more money around here and getting paid to blog, well that seems perfect! Give me money to give my opinion? My perfect job!

I would have eaten it, too!

Shopping will be an online adventure this year for us. That will leave time to check out those recipes and see what's cookin'!

I must say that I probably would have done the exact same thing. It must be a mommy thing.

First--I couldn't help it when the picture of the mommy monkey popped into my head when you said you at the crumb. At least you were using your hands and it was not a bug. :)

As far as the pay per post. Never seen it-but I have heard of it. We will see how it goes and hope it pays off.

Yep - if it's still good to go in a Mom's mouth - it will go in a Mom's mouth. Been there and done that.

Got for the ads!

Take care and see you soon. Kellan

That's perfect Melanie. I so get you. I would have ate it too (and possibly even licked the carpet for crumbs). :)

You already know how I feel about eating random things. A Nutri Grain bar is certainly more nutritional than the whole dog bone thing! :-)

Honestly, I hate, hate, hate pay-per-post ads. Everybody ends up writing basically the same thing. But I would still read you blog.

LOL, well your in good company.. I would have ate it also.
As for pay for post.. I wouldn't say I HATE it, but I never read them. since I read from bloglines I can scroll to the bottom and see it was a pay per post post so I normally just skip it and only read the good stuff. :) That being said.. I too have been thinking about doing it because I could use some extra money, but I really don't know anything about it or where to sign up.. if you do it, let me know how to do it also and I'll look into it also.

I'll still come read :-) Honestly, I don't read the pay per post posts. . . I Just skip right by them and move on to the good stuff ;-)

You made me laugh out loud with the nutri-grain bar story! That was just too funny.

As for the pay-per-posts...it sounds like most people don't read them (I've never come across them before, so I can't give you my opinion on them), but as long as you don't get paid for who actually READS them ('cause really -- how would they know?) then I'd say GO FOR IT!!

People who read your blog are in it for the long haul, anyway. You won't lose readers because of it, I'm sure. Just as long as you still post about YOU and YOUR LIFE on top of the other posts!!

Mine are very keen on those nutrigrain bars but when you read the small print, you can't help but wonder.
Cheers
Something peculiar has happened to blogger comments so just for now, this is my calling card "Whittereronautism"so we can find each other.

My how we digress! Being a mother makes you do weird things like eat left over food off your children!!! Too funny, I bet Calloway would love that one!
about the pay per post... I don't know much about it but I have to read your blog anyway since you are my blog mentor! anyway I'm pretty good at skimming past the garbage (I do it on other sites all the time)!

It's so nice to be in good company. I'd have eaten the nutri-grain bar, too. It's just the same as eating something off their plates. :-)

If you can get paid per post go for it. It could turn out to be quite a blessing - but I don't know if it will cause you to roll in the dough. It might give you diet coke money, though...wait.. where do I sign up?

*L* May it bless you hugely!

As I've said, I'd still come over and read you with or without the paidposts.

Re eating "misplaced" leftovers, could you tell that I do that almost everyday? Heheh. I do. And even when their left down there...yes down there..;D
