Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
I can't believe that it's already my second week doing Tackle It Tuesday. Where does the time go? Anyways- I think this is going to be a very addicting meme. This weekend I was looking around my house thinking about what I could tackle for this week. I came up with quite a list of stuff I want to do, and for this week I picked doing a little reorganizing in my kitchen.

Since Hailey became a toddler most of my kitchen cabinets had to be rearranged to be toddler safe. When I rearranged the cabinets there were some things I just didn't have room for in the higher cabinets. And that stuff ended up on top of my refrigerator. Then while my parents were here at Christmas time my dad installed some cabinet locks to keep Hailey out of the cupboards. (We did leave one cupboard filled with Rubbermaid dishes open for her). So, now I need to clear off the top of my refrigerator and put that stuff back into cupboards.

Another problem in my kitchen is the top of my microwave. For some reason it always seems to gather papers that need to be put away in our desk, bills and receipts that need to be filed, magazines that need to be read, and recipes for the meals that are on my menu for the week. On the left hand side of the microwave is a mug with pens in it (I'm sure most of them no longer work) and Hailey is now tall enough to reach that- so it needs to be moved and the messy pile of notes that is under it need to be taken care of as well. It drives me crazy how messy it looks and so I'm tackling that this week too.

Now here are my after shots. The top of the refrigerator only has a few things on it. The microwave is cleared off. I have put a basket on top of my piano which is at the top of my stairs. Any papers that need to be filed will go into that basket so that I can just grab the basket to take with me when I go downstairs (our desk is downstairs). I also put a little basket on the side of the microwave to keep my recipes for my weekly menu in. It looks much better, don'tcha think?

Good job on your tackle!
I have several areas that just seem to accumulate so many papers and such. I am working on getting more organized to take care of this.

You did a great job! You're right - it is a little addicting, but my husband is happy I found it. Things are starting to get done because there is a bit of an accountability piece.
