May Day Weight Loss Challenge- Week #3

Weight lost this week- +.5 lbs

Weight lost since the start of the challenge- 3lbs
Total weight loss since Hailey was born- 36lbs

Well, this was not a good week. Since I did so well the week before I decided that I could buy some snacks. No, not the healthy kind. I was planning to eat the snacks slowly. You know, not all in one day. That went well. For the first hour. Apparently I have no willpower. Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip cookies are my biggest weakness. The thing is that I did not even enjoy the cookies because the whole time I was eating them I was thinking, "I should not be eating these." So, I felt bad while eating them and then I felt guilty afterwards.

The other bad thing is that I have not been exercising like I should. I only walked on my treadmill a couple of days. Not to make excuses, but Hailey's naps are so unpredictable that it is hard to do it. Usually once I get myself ready and start to walk I hear a little voice calling me through the baby monitor. We also did not take many of our neighborhood walks this week because we had a stagnant air advisory on several days. So, we stayed inside.

I need to get back on track. So, here are my goals for this week
1. No more buying the unhealthy snacks. I just don't have the willpower yet to eat them in moderation.
2. Drink more water.
3. Walk on the treadmill in the evening when Rich is home to watch Hailey.
4. Take our neighborhood walk on the days we are able to. On the other days, go to the mall to shop walk.

Time to go check in over at Tales From The Scales.

19 pounds to go.

I will sign on with you if you want to team up. I have had a hard time with snacks too. It is so hard. My husband eats chocolate by handfuls and M&M's by the pound bag. It rips me up to see it. You mentioned that you need an accountability partner, I would be glad to be there for you. I also need all the support I can get.

Just don't get discouraged. Get on that treadmill, even if it's just for ten minutes and keep doing it every single day. That's the key. I have to do it all the time. I know it's hard with little ones. I tried this last year and it just fell apart.

If you want to get ahold of me, my email is jgk060606 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

I like your attitude, Melanie. You were able to see your problem areas and make new goal revisions. That is a great attribute to have.

And gaining half a pound is totally doable to get back on track.

Here's to a great week for you!

1/2 a pound? Heck - your weight can fluctuate that much in a single day (so says my exercise journal). And 36 pounds lost since you had Hailey - awesome! Good for you! 10 minutes is better than zero, right? Do 10 minutes 3 times a day and you've got a half hour . . . you're on track :-) Keep with it - you're doing great!

BTW - love the wedding photos! It looked beautiful!

The big thing about loosing the weight is keeping it off. I did not- so I am having to re loose 12 pounds.
I have lost 4.5 of that.
You keep going--you are doing a great job. Someone said today... and I thought it was good---when you feel like eating something you should not--go get on the scale. I am a visual person--it works.

I totally forgot to weigh in last week! I've lost a total of 5.5 pounds, but none this week. I haven't been exercising either and that really hurts me.

trying not to snack at night is so hard for me as well.. but i have been fighting the temptation instead i force myself to make myself a cup of tea, and guess what it curbs the craving to snack.. i got to bed satisfied.. exercise and water are my downfalls, it's so hard, just got to push myself!!!! Good luck,, if you ever want to vent I am emailable..

i am finding that my weakest moments are between 4-5 pm- just before and when I am fixing dinner. I get ravenous!

Way to get back on track!
