May Day Weight Loss Challenge- Week #1

The results are in....

I won't keep you in suspense with any commercial breaks! My first week went okay. There were a couple of days that I did do some unhealthy snacking. The unhealthy snacks are really gone now, so I can't do it anymore even if I want to. And yes, they are gone because I ate them. Oh, were we supposed to count calories on Mother's Day? We were? Oops.
Anywho, I did exercise everyday, except Sunday. I walked on the treadmill and took Hailey for a walk around our neighborhood everyday. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually enjoyed the exercise.
I didn't lose as much as I had hoped to lose. Because actually I lost nothing. I didn't gain anything either though, so that's a positive. I would be totally discouraged, but thankfully I took my measurements and my pictures. My measurements prove that my work paid off because I lost inches everywhere I measured. And, I can actually see a difference in the pictures.

So, although I was hoping to lose some pounds, I guess all in all it wasn't too bad for my first week.

My goals for this week:
1. Continue to exercise everyday (except Sunday).
2. Drink 8 glasses of water each day.
3. Plan healthy snacks, so that I do not get hungry and feel the need to start eating everything I can find.

Time to go check in over at Tales from the Scales.

22 pounds to go!

Good job. Hey, even though you didn't lose as far as the scale is concerned, you definitely won! You are losing inches and it won't be long..the weight will be dropping. Good going!

Melanie,

Thanks for stopping by - nice to meet you! You did a great job this week - I'll take inches rather than pounds lost any day! Keep exercising - it'll show up on th scale eventually. Good luck in the coming week. I'll be cheering you on.

Congrats on losing inches! After all it's about what we see when we look at our body, right?

Hey inches lost is a great thing. Congratulations on your exercise as well. Next week progress will probably show up on the scales as well.

Thanks for stopping by and giving me encouragement!

I think sometimes it takes a little bit to get your body jumpstarted, so give it another week. I didn't lose anything either.

Melanie, I think your week was a success...the scale isn't everything. Great job on shedding the inches...that is great that you took your measurements. I bet you feel more comfortable in some of your clothes...that is something that I look for also to see how my weight management is going. Enjoy your week.

Good for you! Getting in that exercise groove is the toughest part, and you've got that going, so pat yourself on the back. I've always believed that it's not the number of pounds you lose, but how you feel about yourself. Keep it up!

You did better than me. I only got in two days on my bike. And you know I enjoy it too. I forget until I get on my bike and think--hmmmm, not bad.
Keep up the good work. I am going to have to work on my sweet tooth--and if I was not on a diet--it would not be a problem.
So keep going.
See you on the scales.

Losing inches is just as good as losing weight. Keep up the great work!

You and I have about the same amount to lose. Certainly different ages and stages of life, but weight just the same. I'll try harder this week if you will, ok?

Hey, losing inches is WONDERFUL. Believe me that will make a huge difference. You are firming up and that is a big step toward your goal too. I know, we look at the scale but that is not always the best way.

Keep it up Melanie.

Great job Melanie! In the past, it has taken me a week or two for my body to figure out what the heck I'm doing, so don't sweat the weight loss. That is very inspiring that you lost inches! Keep up the great work. :)

Love, Michelle

Thanks for your encouragement...
About two weeks ago, they did my measurements at the local Curves. I am anxious to see what the results will be. I check my measurements monthly.

You are right, it is not always about the weight loss..

Thanks, and blessings on your journey. Kim

Good job! The exercise will pay off in endurance and higher metabolism even if you don't see the pounds melt away just yet. Keep working!
