Days Are Long

Last night Hailey was awake from midnight until 2am. She was up again at 5am and then up again at 7am. Since it takes me forever to fall back asleep, I got about 3 hours of sleep- at the most. After a long and exhausting day, which is sure to followed by a long and wakeful night, I am reminded of this quote that my cousin, Lisa shared with me:

“The days are long, but the years are short.”

That is so true. I've learned that more and more over the years. Zachary, our 2 month old, is dolicky but it doesn't bother me as much as it did with Colin. Those little moments will pass and we'll miss the time with them, if not the crying! :)

I sympathize!! But I also can tell by the quote that you wouldn't trade it!! SHe is adorable and I bet you are a great mom. It will be really exciting when she starts to do things as mischievious as your dog...

I read that line on a website for colicky babies when Lil' Bug was an atrocious sleeper early on, and it's SO wise.

Honey, I have been there and felt that pain. Good for you for taking such wonderful care of Haley. She may not remember it, but God will. :)

I am sorry that you didn't get much sleep. I do hope that Hailey is okay though.
The quote is excellent. We too had short nights when our son was little, but now he is all grown up :)

Blessings on your weekend and always.

Amen - the days are long (is it bedtime yet??? says the mommy) but the years are way too short! Those chubby cheeks and tiny giggles disappear all too quickly.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. It was so encouraging to read!

Hi, You added a comment on my blog a couple of weeks ago. and I appreciated it so much! Praying for the birth of my great-grandson.
He was born yesterday and he was just fine! Praise God! We are so thankful and thank you so much for praying. Of course we have posted pictures over at my blog, and I would love for you to see them!

Come see your grandmother, Hailey. I will spend a night rocking you and let Mommy sleep. Because I know from experience that the days are long, but the years are short. Your mommy grew up way too fast.
