Sunday Seven # 11
Sunday Seven is a weekly meme for giving thanks and/or for noting important events in our lives. Click here to see more Sunday Seven.
1. Brooke left for Washington DC yesterday and will be there until July 2nd for the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC). I know this is going to be a great opportunity for her and a wonderful learning experience. I am so thankful to our many friends and family members who gave money to help out with the cost of the trip. Thank you for helping out to make this trip a reality!
2. A couple of weeks ago I posted a prayer request. I am so thankful for my blogging friends who immediately responded. It is amazing to know that there were people all around the world who were praying for little Emma.
3. I am thankful that Christine over at Fruit in Season has started the 30 Day Honor Your Husband Challenge. In Christine's words, "Honoring and respecting our husbands is at the heart of our marital responsibilities as godly wives. We are called to do our husbands 'good and not harm' every day, but often our husbands are not the first priority. And even when they are our first priority we can always do more to show them how we appreciate and honor them as the head of our family. No matter the circumstances in your life right now, how long you've been married, how busy you are, or how many kids you have, now is a great time to make respecting your hubby a top priority!" Isn't that great? It's not too late if you want to join the challenge, so click here for more information.
4. Hailey has not been sleeping very well at night for the last few weeks. She has been waking up every couple of hours and not wanting to go back to sleep. Apparently she thinks there is some exciting stuff happening around here in the middle of the night and she doesn't want to miss it. Last night she slept for 5 hours straight and I am thankful that I was able to get a little extra sleep.
5. This morning as Rich and I were reading the newspaper we were talking about all of the bad news that was being reported. Car accidents, shootings, other mindless violence, and the list goes on and on. Although we know we are fortunate, sometimes we just need to be reminded that even though we think we may have it a bit rough from time to time- we have it pretty good.
6. I am thankful that school is out. Although I have been home with Hailey since October, I am still thankful for the teachers who work so hard and often get very little appreciation. They are finally having their well deserved summer vacation!
7. It has been a wonderfully relaxing weekend for us and I am thankful for that!

Our Grand daughter Emma....is not a good sleeper either (she is 5 months old). So I have been praying for your Emma when I pray for mine...and for you as I know how hard it is to function without sleep.
Hope your week goes well.
Praise God for your Sunday Seven!
Great list... It is so good to be reminded that we are so blessed!!
Come visit me, if you get a chance - My Sunday Seven
Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon. :)
Great Sunday Seven. I hope Brooke enjoys her trip and glad she was able to go. About the prayer request I was happy to get the word out as well as the other bloggers who did it also. It's one reason I love blogging so much....its the community!
Happy Hailey gave you a decent night sleep finally
So neat that Brooke has the opportunity to go the Washington DC. I hope that she will have a great time.
I will check out Christine's challenge in a minute.
I love relaxing weekends. Although I have done a lot around the house, I also found time to do things I like to do :)
Be blessed today and this up-coming week.
Great list. So sorry about the whole sleep thing. I used to have no problem sleeping as soon as my head hit the pillow. As I am aging that seems to be changing. I am a miserable person without at least 8 hours. I will pray for you some catch up time.
Glad you had a peaceful weekend.
Little Hailey you need to sleep all night tonight--Mommy needs some extra beauty sleep. Thank you.
I'm gonna have to check out the Honoring Your Husband link! Sounds wonderful! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for the new baby congrats! Have a good night!
Thank you for the kind words.
Good quote from Lisa.
Like lazy daisy I have a granddaughter, 8 months on the 13th, who is still a real bugger about sleeping through the night. This too will pass even if sleep deprivation makes you crazy.
Great list .I love visiting your blog.
Blessings ,
