Hokies Thank the World

I am sure that most of you remember the Virginia Tech Massacre that took place on April 16th of this year. If you are new to my blog you may not know that both of my brothers and my sister-in-law were attending Virginia Tech when this terrible tragedy occurred. All three were unharmed physically, but we can only try to imagine the emotional toll this took on the lives of each and every person there that day. You can read my post here about that awful day.

Over the weekend there was a "Hokies Thank the World" event in which students and people from the community got together to thank to world for all of the support following that tragic day. Here is a picture from the Hokies Thank the World website. You can visit the website to read more about this event and to see more pictures. My brother Matt and his wife Ellie are still attending VT, working on their masters degrees. They attended this event and are standing in the VT towards the bottom point of the V.

Horrible that your siblings will always have such awful memories of that day. So glad that they were all unharmed though. How scary!

That is an awesome picture and i pray that your family will be stronger for having come through something of this magnitude.
it is always hard to praise God in situations where some survived and some did not. but praise Him continually!

Blessings!

Wow, what an amazing shot. It's still hard to grasp the magnitude of that tragedy. I had a dear friend attend VT who is still in shock (as are we). SOOOO SAD. I'm glad your family was safe.

It was so sad, and yet this what they are doing is so very cool.

I must have not been a regular at the time of this event. How sad.
But how cool that they did this.

AMAZING!
WHat a horrible day.
We live within minutes of the Nickel Mines shooting (Amish Country) and it is an awful thing to happen so close.
My thoughts are with your family and their experience at VT.

The news reached even this far. I was really dumbfounded when I saw it on TV. It's like a reality horror show!
